CHESTERFIELD

A sound absorbent aiming at both general absorption and local absorption, let's say for one person.

The idea for this soundabsorbing pattern came from airports. People on airports are constantly attacked by sound. Surrounding people, announcements and other subliminal noises may be very distracting for travelers, especially for people afraid of flying. I wanted to create a soundabsorbent that was ment for local use, for only one person.

The result is the soundabsorbing pattern named "Chesterfield" after the old classic Chesterfield-furniter. Through that historical connection, this soundabsorbent has a very inviting and home-cozy feeling to it. By sitting down and resting your head against the headrest, you eliminate the subliminal noise that effects you senses. The material density differs in different parts of the pattern which makes the pattern more comfortable to sit on, similar to the comfort a upholstered furniture provides.

This pattern could easily be applied on a number of objects, from easy-chairs and chaislounge to walls, doors and lamps. It works both as a general absorbent and a local absorbent, depending on what needs wishes to be fulfilled.
